The jams began in 2020 during the height of the pandemic and have been a way for artists to come together to make something in their homes. They run seasonally but not consistently. Jams are always announced on the Loose Frames Instagram page.
The jam begins on a Friday evening where a word or phrase that embodies the theme of what you will make will be posted on the Instagram page. The work then must be made within the constraints of the start and end time, which typically is Friday to Monday. Once the jam ends the films are submitted via form and then a Youtube premiere of everyone’s work is held typically the week after.
This jam functioned a little differently from previous ones; animators had 79 hours as opposed to the usual 48 to fully form a film. It took place during the weekend of April 29th, and ended at midnight on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022.
Occurred during the weekend of November 19th to 21st, 2021.
